SecuritasUSA - Mack Trucks

The Client: With over 100 years in the truck manufacturing industry Mack Trucks is a division of the Volvo Group that offers the highest quality diesel, natural gas & electric trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine and industrial engines. Mack Truck trucks are sold and serviced in nearly 30 countries worldwide and are proudly manufactured in the USA, at their Roanoke Valley Operations facility in Roanoke, Virginia.

The Challenge: This facility was facing a dilemma: How to replace the existing simple temperature screening practice and provide access control in addition to temperature & mask screening for the 100+ factory workers who are employed at the plant? The solution had to keep sophisticated reporting including timestamps, user information, and pictures of workers as they entered for the day as well as restrict access for any user who did not pass temperature & mask screening requirements.

The Solution: Mack Trucks employed Securitas a leading provider & installer of security systems worldwide. Together with Securitas, Mack Trucks installed 4 of ZKTeco’s SF1008T+ temperature & mask detection access control readers at Mack’s Roanoke Valley

Operations facility. Used in conjunction with ZKTeco’s all-in-one security software ZKBioSecurity Mack Trucks management now has assurance and peace-of-mind that all workers who are onsite have passed temperature & mask screening at a quicker rate than before. The Mack Trucks facility also has the ability to see pictures of workers as they entered the site, can generate a report of workers who did not pass temperature & mask screening, and can even receive email notifications!

The Future: Securitas has expressed satisfaction in the support ZKTeco USA

provided to their installation team as well as their customer Mack and have started recommending ZKTeco solutions for customers requiring access control and temperature & mask detection. Program Manager at Mack Trucks Curtis Curry has reported an “Increased speed for workers to access building [and] better temp[erature] check information”.
